Full Job Description Job Summary:
Goffstown Ace Hardware is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Garden Center Associate to join our team. In this role, you will assist customers with selecting plants, gardening supplies, lawn care products, outdoor living items, and seasonal merchandise. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for gardening and customer service, and is committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, shrubs, soils, fertilizers, mulch, and gardening equipment. Provide product knowledge and recommendations based on customer needs. Water, maintain, and care for plants and nursery stock to ensure healthy inventory. Receive, unload, and organize incoming garden center merchandise. Build and maintain attractive product displays and seasonal promotions. Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment. Keep the garden center clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff. Operate point-of-sale systems when needed and support general store operations. Help customers load large or bulky purchases into vehicles. Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail, nursery, landscaping, or garden center experience is a plus. Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care, gardening products, and outdoor equipment preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Flexible availability, including weekends and seasonal peak periods.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.60 per hour
