GROUNDSKEEPER-CATS/SEASONAL

JOB This is a seasonal, part time position working 30 hours a week for 5 months and is under the direct supervision of the CATS Executive Assistant. Performs duties required to maintain the transit facility and grounds. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with occasional schedule adjustments to accommodate for special projects, which includes some evenings and weekends.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Attend in-service safety briefings and training sessionsAdhere to all safety protocols and wears safety gear as requiredEstablish and post custodial and grounds keeping work scheduleProperly use and maintain hand and/or power tools and equipmentCare for established lawns and plant beds by weeding, trimming, edging, etc.

Mix and spray or spread fertilizer, insecticides and herbicidesProper use of trimmers, mowers, blowers, etc., to maintain lawns, walks, and parking lotsProper use of gardening tools to plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, trees, apply mulchClears areas of trash and weedsKeep inventory of supply needs and submit requests to replenishPerforms custodial services to maintain cleanliness of the building: offices, kitchen, restrooms, storerooms by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etcOrganize and maintain storerooms and keep supplies stockedMinor building maintenance tasks and proper care of all equipmentSafely operate company vehicle to purchase suppliesMay set up chairs & tables for meetingsSupervise and control Community Service WorkersThis is a small department and all employees are asked to perform other functions as needed
