In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining beautiful lawns and landscapes during the growing season, as well as ensuring safe, clear pathways during winter months. Your expertise will help create inviting outdoor spaces and ensure safety and accessibility year-round. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop your landscaping skills, and contribute to the upkeep of pristine environments. Duties Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain healthy, attractive lawns and landscapes using power tools and hand tools. Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters safely and efficiently. Identify various plants, shrubs, trees, and pests to support healthy landscape growth and pest management strategies. Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas. Clear snow from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and other outdoor surfaces using snow blowers, shovels, and plows while adhering to safety protocols. Apply pesticides or fertilizers responsibly following pesticide management guidelines to promote plant health. Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents during outdoor work activities in diverse weather conditions. Experience Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge of landscape maintenance equipment and power tools is essential for efficient operation. Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including lawn care, gardening, hardscape installation, and grounds upkeep is advantageous. Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and irrigation systems will support your success in this role. Ability to operate grounds equipment safely while maintaining a focus on safety protocol adherence is required. Experience with pesticide management or pest control techniques is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
