Crew:
We aren't your typical boring lawn care or landscaping company. Think of us as gardening pirates who seek out the true buried treasures of dirt and plants. Aye, our mission is to dock at customers' properties and seek out and uncover their own personal Shangri-La - a hidden paradise they won't want to leave. We are looking for our first crew member for immediate hire within the next two weeks and fall schedule. You do not need a flawless, corporate resume to climb aboard. We care about your work ethic, your pride in your craft, and how quickly you master new skills. Share of the Spoils (Pay & Hours):
Starting Compensation:
$20/hr. - $30/hr. (Premium pay for premium skills)
Hours:
Part-time (16 - 24 hrs./wk.)
The Route:
two to three full weekdays working with the field crew (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM); flexible schedule that adjusts around the weather

The Seasoned Green Thumb:
You already have basic horticultural knowledge and know how to apply it to prune, plant, and care for plants and their environment. The Fast Hands-On Learner "Greenhorn": You might not have direct gardening experience, but you are naturally good with your hands, figure things out quickly, and love learning new skills, like gardening. The Mindset (Hunting for "Gold Da-Blooms" TM): You must be a Present-Moment Problem Solver who can also think proactively. We don't force rigid mental corporate blueprints onto the earth. We work based on the reality of the ground right in front of us. You need to be someone who can take a rough concept, adapt instantly to unexpected obstacles, and put forward a 'best effort.' Your ultimate goal is uncovering the true treasure of the job: bringing the landscape to life and finding the "gold da-blooms" TM for our customers.
Physical Demands & Requirements:
Preferred to have basic knowledge of gardening or landscape maintenance but not essential; capability to master is key Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, weeding, and raking leaves to find that yard's "Shangri-La" Operate equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, and others Can use hand tools such as shovels, pruners, and rakes with ease; experience with power tools is a plus Continuously learn about horticultural methods and plant identification and requirements without formal on the job training but as the job progresses Assist with planting, amending soil, mulching, weeding, cleanup, and installations Help monitor plant health by identifying pests or diseases and reporting issues promptly Support team members when working on elevated areas or uneven terrain using appropriate safety measures Have an interest in gardening, horticulture (plants), farming, agriculture or related field; previous greenhouse, installations, growing experience or a former member of scouting or 4-H is a plus Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards Good communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork Can safely lift, push, pull, and carry 50lbs on a repeating basis Can continuously stand, walk, kneel, and bend over throughout the work shift Have reliable transportation to the parking facility of Such a Lush LLC, located in Nedrow, NY.
