Job Summary:

The Groundskeeper will oversee the maintenance, repair, care, cleanliness, and attractiveness of the grounds of multi-family housing and commercial facilities. This may include working both indoors and outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Visually inspect grounds for litter, obstructions, and other problems or hazards. Keep property grounds clear of debris, litter, leaves, snow, and other obstructions or hazards. This includes sidewalks, curbs, streets, staircases, hallways, and common areas. Mows lawn, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned. Empties trash and recycling containers. Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges as needed. Cuts and removes trees as needed. Completes snow removal tasks including shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed. Pull weeds, plant and maintain flowers, and apply mulch as instructed. Clean, repair, paint, remove, or replace site fixtures and equipment as instructed. Perform or assist with maintenance projects and work orders as assigned. Clean and sanitize kitchen facilities, restrooms, offices, common areas, and lobbies, including interior trash receptacles, windows, railings, hardware, fixtures, and floors. Develop professional and respectful relationships with tenants, vendors, and other employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from Property Manager. General knowledge of landscaping, gardening, and sanitation. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational skills and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks.

Education and Experience:

Prior experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Comfortable working outside in inclement weather including rain, snow, and high temperatures. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
