A Landscaping or Groundskeeping Worker provides landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Provides care for plants and trees including mowing, trimming and planting, and repairs driveways, walks, benches or other structures.
Under general direction from the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Maintenance Foreman, The Greenskeeper is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks on the golf course and grounds, safely operating various tools and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tasks may include loading/unloading materials, raking bunkers, landscape care, sod laying, and participating in construction projects. Trained to operate various tools, machinery, and equipment safely. Equipment may include blowers, edgers, hand tools, rotary mowers, sand pro, string trimmers, and utility vehicles. Care for assigned equipment by inspecting before and after each use. Communicate efficiently to solve problems.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license. Driving record meeting company safety policies and guidelines. 6-month experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred. Ability to walk three (3) miles per hour. Visually inspect all work areas, golf course and grounds. Proficient in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time. Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time Lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
