Our Facilities & Grounds team is in search of people who are passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. There is nothing that compares to coming to work surrounded by over 10,000 animals! We are seeking an individual who is passionate about keeping spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained while being able to work in a team and independently. This position will handle custodial and grounds maintenance, ensuring that restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces remain spotless and welcoming for our guests. You will be responsible for sanitation, cleaning and the upkeep of designated areas. In this role, you will monitor and report safety concerns, establish safety protocols, and assist with additional tasks as needed. This role reports to the Park Facilities & Grounds Manager and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Must have the physical ability to work on your feet up to 8 hours a day and be able to walk the zoo grounds for several hours at a time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in the summer heat/winter cold. Understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment. Have a strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
