Job Overview Join our Cross Timbers Arborist team as a Groundsman and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban and rural landscapes. In this energetic role, you will utilize your climbing skills and horticultural knowledge to prune, shape, and care for trees while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Your expertise will help enhance the environment, improve tree health, and support landscape aesthetics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop specialized skills, and contribute to community beautification projects. Responsibilities Manage ropes and rigging to support the climber during pruning, removals, and lowering operations Set up and maintain a safe, organized work zone on every job site Drag, carry, and process brush, limbs, and logs; run the wood chipper Operate chainsaws for brush processing once trained and cleared Clean up job sites thoroughly and protect client property throughout Maintain tools, ropes, and rigging gear; take direction from the crew leader Learn from senior climbers and arborists and build toward your next certification Experience Prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture is highly desirable; growing experience in related fields is a plus. Knowledge of rigging techniques for safe removal or pruning of large branches is a plus. Familiarity with operating skid steer, wood chipper, trucks and trailers. Strong commitment to safety practices when working on property or with heavy equipment. Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
