Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber at Local Roots Arbor Care and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban and rural landscapes. In this energetic role, you will work outdoors in various environments, utilizing your climbing skills and arborist expertise to perform tree care, pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks. Your dedication will help ensure the safety of communities while promoting healthy growth of trees and plants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in tree rigging, landscape maintenance, and horticulture while working with a passionate team committed to environmental stewardship. Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal activities. Operate bucket trucks and other equipment to access hard-to-reach areas efficiently and securely. Apply arborist rigging techniques for the safe dismantling or pruning of large or hazardous trees. Conduct tree removals with precision, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding landscapes and structures. Use chainsaws and other hand tools responsibly for cutting, trimming, and shaping trees according to industry standards. Perform plant pruning care to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal of trees and shrubs. Follow strict safety protocols during all outdoor work activities to protect yourself, colleagues, and the environment. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including tree health assessments, rigging plans, and safety inspections. Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, and general horticultural duties when needed. Qualifications Proven experience in outdoor work environments with a focus on tree care or landscaping. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and pruning practices. Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and efficiently for elevated work tasks. Skilled in using chainsaws, hand tools, and safety equipment in accordance with safety standards. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to climbing and outdoor work activities. Growing experience or background in horticulture, dendrology (study of trees), or landscape maintenance preferred. Excellent physical condition with the stamina required for climbing, lifting heavy equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
