Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Groundsman, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the health, safety, and beauty of our outdoor landscapes. This energetic position involves supporting arborists and landscape crews with tree care operations, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to ensure trees are properly pruned, removed, and maintained. You'll be at the forefront of outdoor work, applying your growing experience in horticulture, dendrology (the study of trees), and landscape maintenance to create safe, thriving environments. Your enthusiasm for outdoor work and commitment to safety will help us deliver exceptional service while fostering a sustainable green space. Responsibilities Assist with tree removal, pruning, and trimming using arborist rigging techniques and chainsaws to ensure safe and efficient operations Operate bucket trucks safely to access high branches for pruning, planting, or inspection purposes Support rigging activities for large or hazardous trees, ensuring proper use of equipment such as ropes, pulleys, and other rigging gear Conduct plant pruning care and tree trimming to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal Maintain safety protocols during all outdoor activities, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to industry standards Support landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general groundskeeping to enhance overall site appearance Assist with GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping or documentation related to tree inventory or landscape planning when required Experience Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or arboriculture is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential Familiarity with tree care practices including pruning, planting, and removal techniques Experience operating bucket trucks or similar elevated work platforms (preferred) Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques for safe tree removal and maintenance Ability to handle chainsaws safely and efficiently in various outdoor conditions Understanding of safety protocols related to tree work, equipment operation, and outdoor environments Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology will be considered an asset for developing technical skills Join us to cultivate your skills in a vibrant outdoor setting!
