Job Description

Gardener Wanted Do you want to work outdoors, care for plants, and be a part of a fun and passionate team? Are you interested in furthering your plant knowledge and skills? Do you enjoy a creative work environment that encourages new ideas? Native Edible Designs is a growing sustainable gardening business located in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. We are a fun, talented and dedicated team of gardeners! You will have the opportunity to learn and hone your skills in the field while maintaining beautiful gardens in southern Rhode Island. We are currently looking for candidates who are interested in growing their career in the horticultural industry with a passion for sustainability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform basic garden care tasks such as: weeding, pruning, raking, planting, moving debris, edging beds, spreading mulch etc. Prepare soil and garden areas for planting and seasonal maintenance Follow safety procedures while working outdoors Follow directions from the crew leader on site Show up on time everyday prepared to work outdoors Communicate with & coordinate with fellow crew members & crew leader Clock in/out your hours daily & accurately Assist in keeping truck and tools clean and organized
Requirements:
Willingness to learn and grow Love of the outdoors, trees, plants, and garden spaces Attention to detail Professionalism, effective communication, attention to detail, & a passion for learning Strong work ethic, demonstrable ability in prioritization Willingness to work in all weather conditions Ability to work a full day with physical demands Ability to lift/carry loads up to 50 pounds Current driver's license Use of own reliable transportation Eager to learn and expand personal skills Avid interest in the environment, ecosystems, and sustainable practices
