Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for a passionate and reliable Landscaper/Groundskeeper to join our outdoor maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beauty and safety of outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and hardscape features. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about outdoor work, possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys working in various weather conditions. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in landscape maintenance, equipment operation, and horticulture while contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of our properties. Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering to keep outdoor areas healthy and attractive. Operate groundskeeping equipment including lawnmowers, power tools, irrigation systems, excavators, and snow plowing machinery safely and efficiently. Manage landscape projects involving hardscape installation, tree care, gardening, and general grounds improvement. Identify plants accurately and apply appropriate horticultural practices for plant health and growth. Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers or drip lines to ensure proper watering schedules. Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow plowing or leaf removal to keep outdoor spaces accessible and tidy year-round. Qualifications Prior experience in outdoor work or grounds maintenance is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued. Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment operation and basic repairs. Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, edging, pruning, and planting. Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and pesticide management is a plus. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation can be beneficial. Strong work ethic with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
