Non-Exempt Job Description:
In this role, you will lead a grounds maintenance crew in the upkeep of parks facilities using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
Supervises crew cleaning and maintaining City Ballfields. Maintains condition of equipment and tools, including: lawnmowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, and hand tools. Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used. Leads workers in the general maintenance of Park Ballfields. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of output. Suggests changes in processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of the division. Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's degree (AA/AS), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
