Job Summary Performs a variety of duties required in the care and maintenance of hospital grounds. Mows, edges, rake, cultivate, etc. lawn while operating necessary machinery needed to complete assigned duties.

Required Training:
Demonstrated ability to perform duties of a groundskeeper. Essential Functions Mows and edges lawns, rakes and hauls leaves and debris; reseeds or resods bare spots as needed. Cultivates soil, plants and fertilizes seeds, flowers, tree seedlings and shrubs; weeds and thins flower beds; prunes and trims trees and shrubbery. Waters lawn, shrubs and flower beds; inspects for evidence of disease or insect infestation and sprays or dust chemicals on infected areas. Policies grounds and picks up and disposes of trash; clears bushes and debris or otherwise maintains wooded areas. Clears and cleans ditches and drains; keeps fire lanes clear of obstruction; removes snow from sidewalks and driveways. Duties & Responsibilities Operates truck or tractor; adjusts, repair and maintains lawn mowers, hand tools and other equipment used in performance of duties. Estimates, recommends and requests needed materials, supplies and equipment. As assigned, assists other trades in building maintenance operations. Maintains an optimistic and professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Shows courtesy, compassion and respect. Conforms to Service Excellence and "House Rules". Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency, e.g., fire or disaster.
