Job Description
Job Summary Are you ready to be part of the team that helps maintain the nation's only gas centrifuge manufacturing facility? As the Grounds Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and functionality of our 80-acre industrial campus. Working under the direction of the Facility Manager, you'll ensure that all grounds, roadways, parking areas, landscaping, and outdoor infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards while supporting the safe and compliant operation of an NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) regulated precision manufacturing nuclear fuel cycle facility. The Grounds Maintenance Technician performs a variety of landscaping, groundskeeping, seasonal maintenance, and light facility support duties to ensure a safe, professional, and well-maintained environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. What You Will Do Maintain all facility grounds, landscaped areas, lawns, and green spaces across the site. Mow, trim, edge, weed, prune, mulch, and plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation. Remove weeds, invasive vegetation, and debris from facility grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and fence lines. Perform seasonal landscaping activities including leaf removal, irrigation maintenance, planting, fertilization, and snow and ice removal as required. Maintain roadways, sidewalks, parking lots, storm drains, culverts, and drainage ditches to ensure safe access and proper water flow. Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles (UTVs), skid steers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment. Inspect exterior areas for hazards and report safety concerns requiring corrective action. Assist with maintaining facility fencing, gates, signage, lighting, flagpoles, and outdoor common areas. Support facility improvement projects including site beautification, erosion control, and landscaping enhancements. Assist Facilities Maintenance with exterior repairs, painting, pressure washing, and general site upkeep. Remove litter and ensure the site maintains a professional appearance at all times. Coordinate with contractors performing grounds or landscaping work to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company expectations. Follow all company safety procedures, environmental requirements, and work control processes. We'd Love to Hear from People With High school diploma or GED required Two (2) or more years of experience in commercial grounds maintenance, landscaping, parks maintenance, facility maintenance, or related field preferred Experience operating commercial landscaping and groundskeeping equipment Knowledge of landscaping practices, irrigation systems, plant care, tree maintenance, and seasonal grounds maintenance Ability to safely operate tractors, utility vehicles, skid steers, trailers, and other maintenance equipment Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspection and minor repairs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional facility Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. A Successful Candidate Also Brings Experience working at an industrial manufacturing facility, DOE site, or NRC-regulated facility Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, compact tractors, excavators, or loaders Knowledge of OSHA safety practices related to grounds maintenance Commercial pesticide or herbicide applicator certification (or ability to obtain) Experience with irrigation system maintenance.
