About the job Company Overview Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix low volume sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support over 19 production and assembly lines. The company serves customers in energy, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas. Position Overview The Groundskeeper is responsible for the daily cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of Ameritex's shop floor, exterior grounds, and building systems. This is a hands-on, self-directed role requiring physical stamina and consistent follow-through. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their environment and holds themselves to a high standard without needing supervision. Job Responsibilities Shop Floor Maintenance Operate floor scrubber throughout the shop daily Collect and remove trash from the shop floor throughout the day Dust walls, equipment, and surfaces on a regular basis Scrub doors and perform paint touch-ups as needed Material Handling & Organization Deconstruct excess pallets and store lumber in designated areas Build 4x4 pallets from available wood scraps Organize loose lumber and return all materials to marked storage locations Return misplaced items to their appropriate locations throughout the facility Grounds & Exterior Pick up litter and debris in the parking lot and along the fence line daily Apply weed killer and perform general pest control on a monthly basis Inspect building exterior for dents, dings, and paint damage; address as needed Power wash the exterior of the building annually Building Systems & Upkeep Change air filters on a routine schedule Clean building ceilings annually Report any building maintenance needs or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred; not required Prior experience in industrial housekeeping, janitorial, or facilities maintenance preferred Ability to operate a floor scrubber (training provided) Basic carpentry or woodworking skills a plus Must be able to follow instructions and manage daily tasks independently Attention to detail and a strong, consistent work ethic Must be reliable and punctual; early start time (6:00 AM) required Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday Basic knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow them
