Description of Duties:
Responsible for maintaining the landscape around the water plants and facilities to ensure that the grounds are orderly; Performs landscaping responsibilities to include mowing, edging, weeding, and removal of brush (to include shrubs and small trees if needed); Will utilize lawn maintenance machinery such as a lawn mower, riding mower, weed eater, or chainsaw in the course of daily landscaping work. May utilize herbicides and insecticides, as needed for control weeds and insects; Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs; Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
A self-starting individual who possesses a high school diploma and up to three months of related experience. Must be able to read, write, and follow written instructions. Must possess a current Texas Driver License and be insurable by the Corporation's insurance underwriter. Must possess good judgment as well as exercise discretion in the performance of daily duties. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the workweek and occasional weekends. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Position requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of sun. Direct exposure to the elements is required. Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level associated with this position is generally loud.
Preferences:
3 or more months of prior relevant work experience.
