The Facilities Management Department is responsible forapproximately 5,000,000 sq.ft.of physical space and over 1400 acres of land, located across multiple locations in Dallas County.
The position ofLandscape ServicesTechnician supportsthat effort through the performance of skilled craftwork in thelandscapingtrade.
May require working in adverse weather conditions.
Requires in-person interaction and coordination of work with other employees, students, external clients, partners or customers and/or immediate access to equipment, documents, or other information located only in a College workspace. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to perform routine maintenance on equipment anddeterminingwhen and what kind of maintenance is needed. Ability todeterminecauses ofoperatingerrors and deciding how to complete and solve the issue. Ability to work with colleagues and troubleshoot, diagnose, andmaintainlandscapingwith accuracy and speed, Ability to create effective working relationships withemployees. Able to recognize andobserveall safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly. Demonstratestheability to analyze information andevaluateresults to choose the best solution and solve problems. Abilitytoutilizecomputer technology to access data and communicate with others. Able tomaintainwritten equipment maintenance records. Ableto communicate effectively with all individuals within the Dallas College community. Strong knowledge and experienceprovidingeffective customer service. Must have the ability to maintain the security and integrity of the critical infrastructure of Dallas CollegePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending over,stooping, twisting, talking, hearing, climbing ladders, using stairs, reaching overhead, crouching,kneeling,or crawling. Pushing or pulling 10-50lbs., lifting 10-80lbs., carrying 10-50lbs., repetitive use of arms and legs, driving, balancing, manual dexterity-fine manipulation or grasping.May require working in adverse weather conditions.
