A Landscaping or Groundskeeping Worker provides landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Provides care for plants and trees including mowing, trimming and planting, and repairs driveways, walks, benches or other structures.
This role is responsible for performing various tasks related to the maintenance and organization of the yard or outdoor storage facility. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the yard and supporting the overall functioning of a company or organization.
Core Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the yard to include tracking inventory locations as required. Safe operation of equipment such as forklifts, Gantry cranes, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to move, load, and unload materials within the yard.
Inventory Management:
Keeping track of inventory within the yard is an essential part of the job. Yard persons may be responsible for monitoring stock levels, organizing and categorizing materials, and conducting regular inventory checks. May also assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments. Ensure that all items and materials are properly stored and organized within the yard. This may involve arranging items on racking, stacking pallets, and labeling or marking containers. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. To include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety protocols while operating machinery, handling materials, or performing any tasks within the yard.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent, required 1 year of forklift experience Knowledge of yard maintenance techniques and equipment operation. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping. Good organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of working outdoors. Prolonged exposure to the outside elements and weather conditions. Occasionally tasked with working in a warehouse and production facility.
