Job Description

POSITION PROFILE
Under the direction of the Building & Grounds Manager. This position is responsible for performing landscaping for Duchesne County buildings and related surrounding County areas. Quality customer service will be provided to the staff and public at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper landscaping techniques and building maintenance is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible to keep all County lawns manicured; Keeps all flowerbeds clear of weeds and debris; Plants and maintains plants and flowers; Attends to emergencies when necessary; Gathers and empties outside trash; Cleans and polishes any outside fixtures; Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created; Notifies the manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems; Keeps equipment in good working order and notifies management of needed repairs; Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation. May assist custodial and facilities maintenance staff when needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director as needed. Maintenance and upkeep of county sprinkling systems. This is a Seasonal position.
