FACILITIES GROUNDSKEEPER

Groundskeeper maintains the facilities exteriors through seasonal grounds care, including landscaping, site upkeep, hazard and weather management, equipment operations, irrigation and pest control.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Landscaping :

Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune trees, spray and remove weeds, plant flowers, and lay sod.

Site upkeep:

Rake leaves and pine needles, remove litter, empty trash cans, and power-wash walkways.

Hazard & Weather Management:

Run plow truck and salter at facilities, shovel snow from sidewalks, apply ice melt, and clear debris to maintain safety.

Equipment Operations :

Safely operated tools, mowers, blowers, trimmers, hedgers, chainsaws, and tractors.

Irrigation & Pest Control:

Maintain and repair sprinkler systems to include sprinkler diagnosis, repair and replace sprinkler timers, control valves, sprinkler heads and sprinkler plumbing, monitor and adjust sprinkler timers and apply fertilizers or weed treatments. Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED a plus but not required. 1 year or more professional experience. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to take instructions. Understanding of safety and operation and basic maintenance for groundskeeping tools. Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work within a team environment. Confidentiality and professionalism expectations Work Schedule Full-Time Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy equipment for extended periods. Work outside in seasonal conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing 50-80 pounds, and up to 100 pounds occasionally if needed.
