Responsibilities Operate underground construction equipment with skill and safety awareness, including trenchers, excavators, and specialized pipeline machinery. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute project tasks. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications, safety standards (OSHA), and client requirements. Support budgeting efforts by tracking equipment usage, materials, and labor costs for project accounting. Collaborate closely with project managers and supervisors to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adapt plans as needed. Ensure compliance with safety protocols by conducting site inspections with tools such as an ohmmeter and adhering to OSHA regulations. Assist in managing contracts and procurement processes related to equipment and materials for underground projects. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment within underground or pipeline projects. Strong background in construction site management with supervisory or supervising experience preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards specific to underground construction environments. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Hands-on experience with construction estimating, budgeting, quality control procedures, and contract management. Demonstrated competence in project scheduling and managing multiple tasks simultaneously on active sites. Practical experience reading schematics and using testing tools such as ohmmeters for quality assurance purposes.
