Job Summary Join our dynamic tree crew as a Groundsman dedicated to supporting arborists and landscape teams in maintaining healthy, beautiful outdoor environments. In this vital role, you will assist with tree care operations, including pruning, trimming, and removal, while ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site. Your outdoor work experience and growing knowledge of horticulture and dendrology will contribute to delivering top-quality landscape maintenance and tree care services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills such as rigging techniques, bucket truck operation, and plant pruning care, all within a vibrant team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Assist with tree removal and pruning projects, ensuring proper use of arborist rigging techniques and safety protocols. Operate bucket trucks and other equipment safely to access trees at various heights for trimming or removal. Support the setup and dismantling of rigging systems for complex tree work, adhering to safety standards. Conduct ground-based tasks such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general yard cleanup to support overall project efficiency. Use tools like chainsaws responsibly for cutting branches or trees, following strict safety procedures. Help with planting, transplanting, and caring for trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth. Maintain equipment such as chainsaws, hand tools, and safety gear in excellent condition for daily use. Experience Previous outdoor work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or tree care is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping tools is a plus for understanding site layouts and planning work zones. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and plant pruning care will enhance your effectiveness on the team. Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks or similar equipment demonstrates your ability to work safely at heights. Understanding of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments is crucial for maintaining a secure job site. Growing experience in landscape maintenance or lawn care will support your ability to contribute across multiple project areas.
