Job Summary Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as a Golf Course Maintenance Worker, where your expertise will help craft and maintain pristine, playable fairways and greens. This role is vital in ensuring the golf course remains an inviting, well-manicured environment that offers an exceptional experience for players. You will be responsible for performing a variety of landscape maintenance tasks, operating groundskeeping equipment, and ensuring the health and safety of the course through proper care and management of turf, plants, and irrigation systems. Responsibilities Maintain golf course grounds by mowing, edging, trimming, and aerating turf to ensure optimal playing conditions. Operate and perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues to prevent water waste or damage. Apply pesticides and fertilizers safely following established protocols to promote healthy turf and plant growth. Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of equipment or materials necessary for landscaping projects. Conduct groundskeeping activities specific to athletic fields, including soil preparation, seeding, fertilizing, and aeration. Use hand tools and power tools safely while maintaining a clean work environment; perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure longevity. Assist with landscaping projects that enhance the aesthetic appeal of the course while adhering to horticultural best practices. Operate company vehicles responsibly for transporting equipment or materials around the course or between sites. Follow safety protocols related to power tool operation, pesticide management, and general grounds maintenance. Qualifications Prior experience in golf course groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletic field maintenance is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of irrigation systems, pesticide application procedures, and landscape maintenance techniques. Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, digging, and prolonged standing or walking. Familiarity with horticulture principles related to turfgrass management, gardening, and landscaping practices. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach toward equipment maintenance and safety standards.
