- Job Summary
- The successful candidate will be exposed to the many facets of construction, operation, and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System.
- Due to weight limits on equipment, a weight restriction of 290 pounds applies.
- Requires "recommended" test results from Modern Hire Electric Ground Worker Virtual Job Tryout administered online. The assessment is untimed, but usually takes about 45 minutes to complete. Requires "recommended" results from pre-employment fitness physical assessment.
- Upon completion of your pre-employment background and medical check, your first day of work will be at our Training Center in Chester, VA. You will attend Ground Worker training for a period of 4 weeks Dominion Energy's expense.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License and 18 years of age GED or HS diploma required Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis Ability to carry up to 60 pounds Ability to work on ladders and hydraulic lifts Ability to be on call and quickly respond to electrical restorations Ability to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools Computer application aptitude Ability to work within a physically demanding work environment A strong driving record which will allow the candidate to obtain a commercial driver's license by the end of the sixth month of employment •
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer Class A or Class B CDL Dominion will provide and pay for CDL training.
