Job Description
Positions available in the Division of Stormwater Operations and Grounds Maintenance. Requires cutting grass, weed eating, mulching, pruning, dragging and lining fields. Must also operate a variety of hand and power tools to include pruning shears, weed eaters and tillers. Hours of work are 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday from March 1st to November 1st.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be dependable and in good physical condition. Safety shoes required. Work is performed outdoors and along County roadways and beautification corridors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to the usual hazards associated with outside maintenance and construction work. This position is considered an Essential Position (County designation as ALPHA) which requires the employee to report to work during inclement and extreme weather conditions, often outside normally scheduled work hours, or as notified by a supervisor.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of hand and power tools including weedeaters, chain saws, sprayers, shovels, and rakes, etc. Must be able to lift between 50-100 pounds on a frequent basis. Work involves walking, standing, stooping, and bending on a daily basis.
