Golf Course Maintenance/Landscaping

Janesville Country Club Grounds Crew Grounds Crew, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Foreman, perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; do semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate small hand powered equipment; and perform work involving large tractors, loaders, and gang mowers. Typical Functions - Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees; fence lines; banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.

• Set tee markers and cups on greens; maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes debris; sands and seeds tee area and drop area divots; and cleans flower beds.
• Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems to the Equipment Manager immediately.
• Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
• Waters and fertilizes tees, greens, and fairways under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator, sprays chemicals on landscaped areas.
• Mows fairways and rough with appropriate equipment.
• Ensures that equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily and reports problems or failures to the Equipment Manager immediately.
• Provides basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager.
• Helps in project work; assists in the construction of new greens, tees, and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; or seeds tees, greens, fairways, and rough as needed.
• Works on irrigation problems as they arise.
• Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor. Employment Standards
• Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape work.
• Working knowledge of and the ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
• Ability to operate mowers, loaders, and other light equipment.
• Strength to perform in physically demanding work environment
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Possession of a valid driver's license. Pay Range
• $19.
