Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber & Groundsman, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the health, safety, and beauty of our outdoor environments. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing your climbing skills and groundskeeping expertise to care for trees, landscapes, and surrounding grounds. Whether you're trimming, pruning, or performing landscape maintenance, your efforts will directly contribute to creating safe and aesthetically pleasing spaces for communities and clients alike. Duties Safely climb trees using rigging techniques and climbing gear to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access hard-to-reach areas for tree care and landscape work. Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, cabling, bracing, and health assessments to promote growth and safety. Maintain grounds through lawn care, landscape maintenance, planting, mulching, and debris removal to ensure pristine outdoor spaces. Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping and documenting tree inventories and landscape features. Assist with rigging operations for safe tree removal or limb dropping while adhering to safety protocols. Support landscaping projects by planting new trees, shrubs, and flowers; maintaining existing plantings; and ensuring overall site aesthetics. Perform routine equipment checks on tools like chainsaws, trimmers, and bucket trucks; ensure proper maintenance and safety compliance. Requirements Proven growing experience in arboriculture or horticulture with a strong understanding of tree care practices. Ability to climb trees confidently using rigging techniques while maintaining safety standards. Experience operating bucket trucks and bucket lifts for elevated work tasks. Knowledge of landscape maintenance procedures including lawn care, pruning, planting, and general landscaping principles. Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping or inventory management is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to tree work, rigging operations, and equipment use. Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions.
