This is an early-morning, part-time position for someone who takes pride in organization, preventative maintenance, and keeping equipment ready for the field. The Shop Technician plays a critical role behind the scenes by ensuring our crews have the products, equipment, and supplies needed to provide exceptional service every day. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands, can identify problems before they become larger issues, and takes ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment. Schedule Monday through Friday 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Approximately 15 hours per week Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. This position is responsible for helping ensure crews are fully prepared and able to start their day on time. Job Responsibilities Load products, fertilizer, chemicals, signs, water, and supplies into company vehicles Fuel trucks, trailers, and equipment Maintain accurate product and supply inventory Label, store, and rotate chemicals and products according to company procedures Prepare vehicles and equipment for daily operations Clean out and organize company vehicles, trailers, and shop areas Inspect equipment, vehicles, and trailers for damage or maintenance needs Document equipment issues, damage, and repairs needed Troubleshoot and complete basic equipment repairs when qualified Assist with maintenance and repairs on lawn care equipment, sprayers, spreaders, trailers, and small engines Drive company trucks and trailers as needed Unload used or empty product containers and organize returns Properly dispose of trash and chemical waste Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Follow all safety protocols and chemical-handling procedures Report hazards, spills, leaks, or safety concerns immediately Complete errands and supply pickups as needed Assist with additional operational tasks to support daily company needs Qualifications Dependable and able to consistently arrive by 4:00 a.m. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required Comfortable driving trucks and trailers, box trucks and equipment Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable working around equipment, chemicals, vehicles, and outdoor conditions Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move products and equipment Willingness to follow company safety procedures and standards Preferred Qualifications Mechanically inclined with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues Experience repairing or maintaining small engines, sprayers, spreaders, trailers, vehicles, or lawn care equipment Experience using hand tools and basic power tools Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and working around vehicles, trailers, equipment, fertilizers, and lawn care products.
