Lawn Care Manager- Fertilization & Weed Control Division Quick Cut Lawn Care Services | Bolingbrook, IL & surrounding suburbs Quick Cut Lawn Care Services is looking for an experienced turf care professional to lead and grow our fertilization and weed control division. This is a hands-on leadership position. You will perform applications, diagnose lawn problems, manage daily operations, and help build this part of our business. As the division grows, you will help hire, train, and lead additional technicians. We're looking for someone with at least 3 years of professional fertilization and weed control experience who can confidently evaluate a lawn, explain what is wrong, and develop a practical treatment plan. Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of our fertilization and weed control division. Apply fertilizers, pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides, and other approved treatments safely and accurately. Identify common turfgrasses, grassy weeds, and broadleaf weeds. Diagnose turf problems, including thinning grass, poor color, weeds, soil compaction, nutrient deficiencies, disease symptoms, insect damage, and environmental stress. Recommend appropriate treatments, soil testing, or further evaluation when needed. Plan seasonal treatment programs and adjust applications based on weather, turf conditions, and product requirements. Calibrate, operate, and maintain spreaders, sprayers, and application equipment. Communicate with customers about lawn conditions, treatment plans, realistic expectations, and proper lawn care. Handle service concerns and follow-up visits professionally. Help grow the division through strong results, customer retention, estimates, and appropriate service recommendations. Train future technicians and maintain consistent service standards. Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in lawn fertilization and weed control. Strong knowledge of cool-season turf and common lawn issues in northern Illinois. Ability to diagnose problems and make sound treatment decisions independently. Experience with granular and liquid applications, application rates, and equipment calibration. Appropriate pesticide applicator credentials for the work performed; include your current licenses and certifications when applying. Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles safely. Strong organization, customer communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work outdoors and handle the physical demands of turf care. Previous crew leadership or division management experience preferred.
