We're seeking a Vivarium Support Technician (Cage Wash) to join our Integrated Toxicology team in Kansas City. In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility by sanitizing animal housing equipment, preparing supplies, and supporting daily vivarium operations. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided. What You'll Do Clean and sanitize animal cages, racks, and related equipment. Operate and perform routine checks on automated cage wash equipment. Prepare clean housing for incoming animals. Maintain cleanliness of cage wash areas, storage rooms, and laboratory spaces. Receive, organize, and distribute animal care supplies. Prepare environmental enrichment items and study-related materials. Assist with routine facility support tasks and inventory organization. Report equipment issues or maintenance needs. Follow established safety, quality, and animal welfare procedures. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED preferred. No previous experience required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow detailed procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members. Dependable, safety-focused, and willing to learn. Ability to work occasional weekends, holidays, or extended shifts as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an 8-hour shift. Frequently lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Push and maneuver wheeled carts weighing up to 800 pounds. Perform repetitive bending, reaching, and cleaning activities. Ability to work in hot, humid, and wet conditions. Work Environment Laboratory and vivarium setting. Regular exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals. Exposure to rodent dander and laboratory animals.
