Job Description

Purpose:
Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned lawn and garden equipment/outdoor power equipment.
Responsibilities:
Performs basic lawn and garden/outdoor power equipment diagnostics and determines what repairs are needed, if required. Performs basic lawn and garden/outdoor power equipment repairs as requested by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman. Participates in all job-related training and development. Responsible for completing proper documentation pertaining to the job.
Example:
quotes, parts pick lists, warranty write-ups, proper complaint, cause, repair information on each work order. Ability to use computer in diagnostics, documentation, and processing of individual jobs. Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments. Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment. Minimum 6-9 months in the shop for onboarding / systems training / evaluation before moving into a road truck position.
Requirements:
Preferably one year of experience performing service repairs. Ability to communicate with customers on a professional level. Ability to efficiently plan driving route daily to minimize drive time. Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures. Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment. High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's license.
