We believe healthy trees and shrubs are just as important as a healthy lawn. Our Tree & Shrub Program is designed to improve plant health, prevent insect and disease damage, and maximize the long-term value of our customers' landscapes through expert care and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Job Summary The Tree & Shrub Technician is responsible for evaluating the health of ornamental trees and shrubs and providing professional treatments that promote long-term plant health. This position requires a strong understanding of plant identification, pest and disease recognition, and the ability to recommend and apply the appropriate treatments based on each property's needs. Responsibilities Identify a wide variety of ornamental trees, shrubs, and landscape plants. Inspect trees and shrubs for signs of insects, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, environmental stress, and other health concerns. Diagnose plant health issues using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles and recommend appropriate treatment plans. Apply tree and shrub treatments safely and accurately, including: Horticultural oil sprays Insect control applications Disease control treatments Mite control applications Nutrient and fertilization treatments Monitor landscape health throughout the growing season and identify potential issues before they become severe. Educate customers on proper plant care and provide recommendations to improve the health and longevity of their landscapes. Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings with customers and office staff. Operate company vehicles and application equipment safely while following all company policies and state regulations. Skills At least one year experience required Knowledge of tree, shrub, and ornamental plant identification. Ability to recognize common insects, diseases, and environmental stress affecting landscape plants. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Maryland Pesticide Applicator Certification (or ability to obtain) preferred. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
