The Lawn Care Technician is responsible for the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and other turf care products to residential and commercial lawns. This role ensures healthy, weed-free, and aesthetically pleasing lawns through proper treatment, diagnosis, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products according to company standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and diagnose lawn issues including weeds, pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Operate and maintain application equipment such as spreaders, sprayers, and ride-on applicators.
- Monitor weather conditions to determine optimal application times and avoid product waste or damage.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, materials used, and customer interactions.
- Communicate with customers to explain treatments, provide lawn care tips, and answer questions professionally and inspect properties prior.
- Safely handle and store chemicals in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of turfgrass types, common lawn pests, and best practices for fertilizer and chemical application.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a state pesticide applicator license (if required).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
