Job Description

Job Summary Join the Mowing Matters team as a Lawn and Landscape Technician. This is a hands-on, labor-intensive outdoor position for someone who enjoys working outside, takes pride in quality work, and works well as part of a team. You will perform a variety of lawn care, landscaping, property maintenance, and outdoor improvement projects for residential and commercial properties throughout the area. Work may include mowing, trimming, mulching, planting, pruning, landscape installation, hardscaping, fencing, and other property improvement projects. This position offers approximately 30-40 hours per week with pay ranging from $18-$25 per hour , depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Duties Perform mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, mulching, planting, weeding, and general landscape maintenance Safely operate commercial lawn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, power tools, and other lawn and landscape equipment Assist with landscape installations, including planting beds, shrubs, trees, mulch, stone, and other landscape materials Assist with hardscaping, fencing, drainage, and other outdoor property improvement projects Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment, tools, and landscape materials Operate equipment such as skid steers and mini skid steers when qualified and trained Maintain tools, equipment, trucks, and work areas in a clean and organized condition Follow company procedures and safety practices while working around vehicles, machinery, equipment, customers, and other crew members Work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining attention to detail and quality Assist with seasonal work, including leaf removal, fall cleanups, and snow removal as needed Experience Previous lawn care, landscaping, grounds maintenance, farming, construction, or other outdoor work experience is preferred but not required Experience operating commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, mini skid steers, or similar equipment is a plus Some carpentry, hardscaping, fencing, and general handyman skills are beneficial Mechanical ability and experience maintaining or troubleshooting lawn and landscape equipment are a plus Relevant certifications, including pesticide/fertilizer application, equipment operation, or other lawn, landscape, or mechanical certifications, are preferred but not required Must be comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting, carrying, bending, walking, and working on your feet for extended periods Must be able to work outdoors in heat, cold, and changing weather conditions Must be dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with a team Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation Mowing Matters is looking for dependable people who take pride in their work and want to develop a broad range of lawn, landscape, equipment, and property maintenance skills.
