Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Petting Zoo & Targeted Grazing Handler, where your enthusiasm for animals and land management will create engaging experiences for communities while promoting sustainable grazing practices. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting, setting up, and operating mobile petting zoo equipment and targeted grazing systems across diverse locations. Your work will directly contribute to environmental health, land restoration, and educational outreach, all while adhering to strict safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine animal care, land management, and mechanical operation in a lively, outdoor environment. Duties Safely operate and maintain mobile petting zoo vehicles and targeted grazing equipment, including tractors, trailers, and material handling machinery. Transport animals and grazing materials to various sites, ensuring secure loading and unloading procedures. Set up animal enclosures, fencing, and grazing systems according to project specifications and safety protocols. Monitor animal health and behavior during events, providing basic care and ensuring their well-being throughout the day. Implement targeted grazing plans by managing livestock movement to control invasive plants or prepare land for planting. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Follow all safety standards related to heavy equipment operation, food processing (animal feed), manual handling, and grain or material storage. Adhere to safety protocols during all operations, including proper use of pick up trucks and livestock trailers. when necessary. Maintain detailed logs of animal movements, equipment usage, safety checks, and site conditions for accountability and reporting purposes. Qualifications Previous experience in the milling industry or agriculture is highly desirable; familiarity with farming practices is a plus. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, tractors, or tankers safely. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and material movement with proper technique. Basic math skills for measuring feed quantities or land measurements; attention to detail is essential. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments; committed to maintaining a safe work environment at all times. Valid driver's license (DL) or experience operating large vehicles such as pick up trucks, livestock trailers, RV's Strong work ethic with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures diligently.
