Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, and experienced Nursery Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of nursery/ garden center operations. This role ensures the candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, strong leadership skills, and hands-on experience in a garden center setting. As Nursery Manager, you will drive operational excellence and foster a vibrant team dedicated to providing a positive, pleasant work environment. This position is vitally important in ensuring that customers can expect a friendly, knowledgeable staff to greet them. Duties Oversee daily operations of nursery/garden center and small staff. Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers while providing excellent, friendly service and knowledge. Daily customer interaction. Daily cash register sales & gift card purchases. Ability to coordinate deliveries to customers. Responsible for daily reconciliation and close-out reports. Lead and train team in plant identification, management, and care to provide to customers as well. Supervise and assist team in receiving shipments of merchandise, pricing, and display. Conduct regular inspections of outdoor garden/live inventory to ensure proper watering, weeding, and fertilizing as necessary. Support plant pest control efforts through proper application of treatments and monitoring. Ensure compliance with safety protocols for lifting, use of hand tools, and outdoor work environments. Strong understanding of horticulture principles including plant identification and sustainable gardening practices. Skilled in managing a nursery team with clear communication and leadership abilities. for operating irrigation system. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or fertilizer application. Physical capability for outdoor work. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 42.0 per week
