Cannabis Nursery Supervisor Position Description We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Cannabis Nursery Supervisor to lead nursery and vegetative cultivation operations within a licensed cannabis facility. This role oversees daily plant care, clone production, mother plant maintenance, transplanting, sanitation, team coordination, and compliance documentation. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on cultivation experience, understands commercial cannabis nursery production, and is comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. This position is well suited for someone who takes pride in plant health, consistency, organization, and developing efficient cultivation workflows. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursery and vegetative operations, including cloning, transplanting, pruning, irrigation, feeding, and plant health monitoring. Lead and support cultivation team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. Maintain high standards for plant quality, compliance, cleanliness, productivity, and consistency. Implement and enforce SOPs for cloning, mother plant care, transplanting, pruning, sanitation, pest prevention, and plant health checks. Monitor environmental conditions, irrigation systems, lighting, and feeding schedules to support healthy plant growth. Identify and report plant health concerns, including pests, disease, nutrient issues, irrigation problems, or environmental stress. Maintain accurate plant records in seed-to-sale systems such as METRC and support full regulatory compliance. Track plant health, growth performance, and nursery outcomes to help reduce plant loss and improve production consistency. Coordinate with propagation, flowering, IPM, and cultivation leadership to ensure smooth plant transitions and operational alignment. Manage nursery supplies and inventory, including nutrients, growing media, cloning supplies, tools, labels, and sanitation materials. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and compliant cultivation environment. Ensure all workflows align with facility safety standards, compliance requirements, and production goals. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, nursery, propagation, or vegetative plant care. Leadership experience managing or training cultivation team members in a licensed cannabis facility preferred. Strong understanding of cannabis vegetative operations, including cloning, mother plants, transplanting, pruning, and plant development stages. Experience with environmental control systems, irrigation systems, lighting, nutrient schedules, and plant health monitoring. Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems such as METRC and cannabis compliance requirements. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and enforce SOPs precisely. Must meet all state cannabis employment and licensing requirements, including background check and age requirements. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts consistently. Preferred Experience Experience in high-volume commercial cannabis nursery or vegetative cultivation operations. Experience managing large clone batches and mother plant programs. Experience with IPM procedures and early identification of plant stress, pests, or disease. Experience with nutrient mixing, sanitation programs, irrigation troubleshooting, and production tracking. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and move up to 60 pounds regularly throughout scheduled shifts. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while performing daily cultivation tasks. Comfortable working in warm, humid grow environments with temperatures around 75-85°F and humidity levels around 60-70%. Ability to work under high-intensity grow lighting for extended periods. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed tasks such as cloning, transplanting, pruning, trimming, and plant maintenance. Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining consistency and quality standards. Ability to safely operate cultivation tools, irrigation equipment, sprayers, trimming equipment, and facility systems. Comfortable working around cannabis plants, fertilizers, organic pesticides, soil, growing media, dust, sanitation chemicals, and strong plant odors. Ability to maintain focus, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced cultivation environment with strict compliance requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented cultivation setting. Ability to follow sanitation, safety, and compliance procedures precisely while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Comfortable moving throughout multiple grow rooms and cultivation areas during the course of a shift. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding plant health, equipment issues, and operational needs.
