Job Description

Baker Landscape is seeking an experienced Nursery Supervisor to run our 16 Acre Contractor's Nursery. The Nursery Supervisor will help oversee all Nursery functions. This includes managing inventory, growing plants and executing special fine gardening. A successful Forman will have extensive knowledge of horticulture and a passion for plants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Able to lift over 15 lbs
  • Oversee day to day functions of the Nursery
  • Grow plants from liners to 65 gallon
  • Uphold fertilizing schedule
  • Maintain a detailed inventory while ensuring stock is organized
  • Ensure proper and irrigation and protection for all plants
  • Step up plants when ready/rooted
  • Train and supervise Nursery garden staff in Horticultural practices
  • Conduct seasonal pruning for all ornamentals to promote growth and fuller plants
  • Greenhouse propagation; both cutting and seed flats
  • Maintain Nursery diseases and pest control when needed
  • Able to operate Bobcat for mixing and screening soil
  • Able to operate heavy machinery
  • Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • MUST BE BILINGUAL
    (English/Spanish)
  • Expert in understanding of horticultural practices; to include pruning, irrigation, and fertilization Must be able to identify and troubleshoot plants, diseases and pests, soils, etc.
Valid Florida Driver License with clean driving record (recommended but not required) Have an eye for Aesthetics and abnormal plant issues Able to safely work alone and display quality and thoroughness in work product.

  • Exposure to outdoor conditions; 7-8 hours daily
