Responsibilities:

Every thriving landscape begins long before the first shovel hits the dirt it starts with healthy, resilient plant life carefully nurtured from the ground up. As a Nursery Manager, you will stand at the heart of our large-scale landscape operations, turning acreage into a powerhouse of top-tier living inventor y. We need a hands-on leader who takes pride in quality and bridges team communication.

Operations & Scheduling:

Oversee daily operations across propagation, growing, maintenance, and staging of plant material, building and executing production schedules to meet contract timelines and changing client demands.

Plant Care Programs:

Manage comprehensive irrigation, fertilization, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and seasonal care programs.

Quality Control & Compliance:

Establish, enforce, and continuously upgrade nursery quality standards; conduct routine inspections to ensure plant health, aesthetic appeal, and industry compliance.

Issue Diagnosis:

Diagnosing and resolving plant health issues promptly, including pests, disease, and nutrient deficiencies.

Project Collaboration:

Collaborate with project managers to verify delivered plants match design/project specs and maintain documentation for quality control audits.

Inventory & Procurement:

Monitor inventory levels, forecast crop needs against upcoming landscape project pipelines, coordinate plant purchases with approved vendors, and manage real-time inventory tracking systems.

Team Leadership & Safety:

Supervise, train, and evaluate nursery field crews and support personnel. Conduct regular safety meetings and strictly enforce OSHA standards, Worker Protection Standards (WPS), and chemical handling regulations.

Bilingual Team Communication:

Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish to ensure clarity, high productivity, and safety.

Financial & Resource Management:

Manage nursery operational budgets, labor costs, and input expenses while efficiently deploying equipment and physical resources.

Qualifications:

Bilingual Proficiency:

Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.

Industry Experience:

5+ years of progressive leadership experience in nursery operations, commerci al horticulture, or large-scale landscape manage ment (Listed overall experience: 4-7 years).

Education:

High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or a related field is a preferred asset.

Horticultural Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of plant care, IPM programs, and quality specifications. Certifications (Preferred): Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH), Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, or Certified Landscape Technician (CLT).

Financial & Vendor Skills:

Experience managing operational budgets, tracking labor costs, and maintaining an established network of plant vendors for wholesale purchasing.

Equipment Operation:
