Position Overview The Cultivation Leads duties are to oversee and lead the cultivation operations of our Mount Dora greenhouse cannabis facility. This person will have a deep understanding of cannabis cultivation techniques, plant biology, and industry regulations. The Cannabis Cultivation Lead will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective cultivation of high-quality cannabis crops while maintaining compliance with local and state regulations all while working cross functionally with other department leads to ensure smooth business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of cannabis cultivation, including but not limited to pre-harvest planning, day of harvest communications, planting, watering, fertilizing, and post-harvest sanitization. Implement and optimize cultivation processes to maximize yield and quality. Monitor, maintain and track environmental conditions in the greenhouse, such as temperature, humidity, and light, to ensure optimal plant growth. Lead a team of greenhouse cultivation staff, providing guidance, training, and support. Develop, maintain, and implement cultivation schedules and assignments for the team. Work with department managers to ensure that new team members receive comprehensive training on cultivation techniques, safety protocols, and compliance procedures. Stay up to date with local and state regulations related to cannabis cultivation. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to, tracking and reporting requirements and waste management. Collaborate with management and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits. Implement and oversee greenhouse quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality cannabis products. Monitor and address any issues related to pest control, diseases, or other potential threats to the crops and ensure clear reporting to Director of Cultivation, Head Grower, Compliance and Operations Management. Ensure that the team takes required daily lunches and breaks in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with Head grower and other department leads on labor planning ensuring efficient coordination across departments. Monitor greenhouse supply levels and ensure the cultivation team has appropriate tools and materials to perform their job efficiently. Oversee and task greenhouse opening and closing procedures to maintain optimal conditions for plant growth. Maintain accurate and detailed records of cultivation activities, including planting schedules, quality control measures, and supply inventory. Generate reports as required for regulatory compliance and internal analysis. The Cannabis Cultivation Lead will report to both the Head Grower and the Director of Cultivation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Must be 21 years old to apply and pass a Level 2 Background Screening. Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry. A flexible schedule is required. Excellent attendance is a must. Adaptability to a fast-paced and changing industry while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to work in environments with varying hot/cold temperatures, humidity, and exposure to plant life. Able to stand, squat, bend, twist, kneel, reach and work with your hands for extended periods while performing tasks. Ability to lift and move cannabis products and equipment up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Preferred:
Previous experience in cannabis cultivation is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Greenhouse/Nursery experience Background in Agriculture
