Tuition reimbursementOverviewThis person will support the Ag team in the operation of the seeding department; this includes leading the seeding team members during the production run, giving daily guidance to them, and assisting with scheduling staff.
Responsibilities include:
Supervision and training of employees in day-to-day processes and procedures to develop.
Accountable for achieving daily sowing goals.
Manage daily seeding team production tasks: seeders daily cleaning, perform scheduled PMs, clean and pluck drippers in the greenhouse, irrigation lines flushing, greenhouse cleaning.
Oversee the proper ordering and timely delivery of ag inputs such as seeds and media and ensure all seeding line inputs are FSQ compliant.
Record operational data such as, but not limited to, NetSuite assembly builds, food safety, operational paperwork, seeding accuracy measurements, seed usage.
Communicate issues to the Maintenance department, creating work orders or reaching out to them directly when emergencies arise.
Foster highly effective communication and collaboration with peers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and exceptional gutter quality.
Maintain a positive, open, and professional working relationship with colleagues and management.
Work closely with Grower and Head Grower in the execution of trials.
Support Grower and Head Grower with daily tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsPrevious farm operations experience including crop planting and equipment management.
Strong leadership and communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working conditions:
Greenhouse/Warehouse/Coolers. Employees will have frequent exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Will spend some time inside of near freezing coolers. Often working near moving mechanical parts. There will be exposure to cleaning chemicals. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud.
Physical requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to constantly use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talk and hear. There is frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements are to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, often lift up to 25 pounds, and constantly lift up to 10 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
