Provide findings and recommendations to management. Help plan the annual retail plant program, including variety selection, production volume and timing. Contribute proactive feedback on systems, workflows and process improvements. Assist in planning and creating farm signage for the spring retail season. Assist with operations team to promote the greenhouse and sales team. Field, harvest, and retail support in the offseason. Support planting and care of the hoop house and field crops as the greenhouse workload allows. Train new team members on greenhouse operations.
Harvest technique. Product quality. Fill in when the field crew. As needed and when other responsibilities are current. Leadership and supervision. Directly supervised nursery and greenhouse staff.
Set daily work plans and provide real time direction and conduct feedback conversations. Bloom Hill Farms standards for product quality, customer service, and workplace conduct. Hands on greenhouse production experience including seating propagation, transplanting and basic crop management. Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to common plant health issues such as pest disease, nutrient deficiencies. Comfort Working outdoors and in greenhouse environments year-round, including heat, humidity and cold. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive manual tasks. Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage multiple tasks without constant supervision. Computer literacy, e-mail, spreadsheets, printing labels and signs. Additional qualities and qualifications. Experience in the retail, nursery or garden center setting.
Including merchandising, customer interaction and product knowledge. Prior experience leading or supervising a small team, even informally. Experience with furtigation, drip systems or irrigation management. ID knowledge across common annuals, perennials, and herbs. Experience with crop scheduling and seeding schedules.
