Job Description
Position Overview The Water Infrastructure & Landcare Management Academy (WLMA) Supervisor executes the day-to-day operations for all water infrastructure, land, and tree care maintenance projects assigned to the WLMA Crew, including the management and oversight of members, their daily tasks, and assigned work orders. The WLMA Supervisor plans, assigns, supervises, documents, and participates in the work of the WLMA Crew. The Supervisor reports to the PowerCorpsPHL Industry Academies Lead. Essential Functions The WLMA Supervisor will: Supervise, direct, and evaluate members of the WLMA Crew, including: o Leading the onboarding, training, performance evaluation, timesheets, critical feedback, and discipline of the WLMA Crew. o Ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures such as attendance, timeliness, conduct, professionalism, customer service, etc. Plan, assign, supervise, document, and participate in the work of the WLMA Crew, including: o Coordinating with the Philadelphia Water Department and other service partners on work order and special project priorities. o Managing the quality of work produced. o Promoting a culture of safety and professional work practices. o Recording and submitting data needed to complete assigned work order. Instruct the WLMA Crew in the safe operation and maintenance of equipment including: o Chainsaws o Woodchipper o Other 2-cycle power equipment o Carpentry tools Instruct the WLMA Crew in the foundations of arboriculture including: o Pruning o Plant healthcare o Tree anatomy and physiology Operate assigned vehicles, equipment, and hand and power tools safely and professionally. Conduct or coordinate regular vehicle, equipment, and tool maintenance and inventory. Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate across the organization both generally and specifically to support members of the WLMA Crew with next steps in their career plans. Participate in the crew selection process. Attend program, staff, and community meetings and outreach events as required. Perform other duties, as requested. Qualifications

- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and accessibility. Education and Experience Minimum of two years experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landcare, or Water Infrastructure maintenance
- AND•Thirty credits (30) from an accredited college, university, or training program in nursery, grounds, maintenance, arboriculture, landscape design, or a related field.
- OR•Three or more years experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landcare, or Water Infrastructure maintenance.
Typical activities include:
Working outdoors in extreme heat, cold, or rain. Frequent bending and heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Walking on uneven ground. Performing the operation of power tools, hand tools and complex power equipment and perform tasks with mechanical aptitude. Traveling to different locations within Philadelphia on a regular basis. Facilitating both virtual and in-person workshops and meetings using a variety of digital platforms, physical projectors, whiteboards, flip charts and vocal projection. Sitting for extended periods while using a computer, typing, and participating in video conferences.Compensation and Benefits:
Salary:
$65,000- 75,000
