Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps. Internal applicants currently working under the Public Employees (Local 71) Collective Bargaining Agreement Local union dispatched applicants External applicants and other current Municipal employees not covered under this agreement This position will maintain parks, sports facilities, outdoor recreation facilities, trails and municipality owned grounds. Assist with various events. Winter duties may include, but are not limited to maintaining ice rinks, ski trails, park equipment, and removing snow from trails, parking lots and roadways. Summer duties may include, but are not limited to collection of litter, mowing turf, cleaning and repairing bike trails, repairing playground equipment, vandalized parks, and maintaining sports fields. Requires knowledge of light equipment and small tool operation. Other duties as assigned. Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance. Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver's License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire. Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
