Job Description
This job is for the Waikiki Aquarium Service located in Honolulu. We are seeking trained, AND train-able candidates. If you already have the skills, your compensation will reflect that. If you need to learn, the same applies. Both are okay. The Waikiki Aquarium Service is Oahuʻ's premier pond and aquarium service and installation company. We install, service and repair koi ponds, aquariums and water features. We install and maintain their relevant filtration devices, plumbing, and mechanical features. We manually clean and vacuum water features, ponds and aquariums on a regular basis. We are seeking applicants who have or are eager to learn a diverse set of skills relating to aquatic life, pumps, filters, UV sterilizers, pvc plumbing, pool filters, ponds, water features, aquariums, fish, aquatic plants and more. Applicants must be motivated to work outdoors. We are seeking candidates who are able to think on their own but also follow detailed instructions which result in healthy aquatic environments for fish, plants and clients. Most jobs are conducted at various commercial and private properties which requires special care as to ensure properties are left clean and un-damaged. You will spend the day going to various job sites and conducting routine pond, aquarium, and water feature services. Candidates must be polite to clients, considerate of their surroundings, use respectible language, present themselves properly, and have an overall welcoming attitude and persona. Candidates must have a valid drivers license, a normally clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles. Candidates must be comfortable and familar with work in and around water. Candidates are 1099 Sub-contractors (Like Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc). You do your own taxes, we pay you hourly. You able able to deduct all work expenses this way. We provide materials and supplies for jobs. You are responsible for your own clothing and food. Candidates must be comfortable using powertools, paints, epoxy, mild acids, etc. Candidates must be able to lift heavy objects including rocks, cement, organic debris, and tools. Most candidates whose skills will meet these requirments may come from a wide range of previous job experiences. For example landscaping, plumbing, pool servicing/cleaning, aquariums, marine biology, aquaculture, aquaponics, etc.
