Job Description

JOB The Northern Region Parks Division (NRPD) of the Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers to support park operations across multiple programs and locations. Seasonal Maintenance Workers perform a variety of routine maintenance, groundskeeping, and custodial tasks to help ensure that parks, facilities, and public spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. Positions may support athletic fields, playgrounds, trails, buildings, park grounds, and special events. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on outdoor work, students seeking seasonal employment, or candidates interested in gaining experience in parks and facilities maintenance. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, leaf removal, and litter collection Assist with maintenance of athletic fields, playgrounds, trails, and landscaped areas Perform basic custodial duties, including cleaning restrooms, shelters, and park facilities Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment for park programs, rentals, and special events Use hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and properly Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment to supervisors Follow established safety procedures and departmental guidelines Interact courteously with park patrons and staff Perform related duties as assigned

May be subject to medical, drug, and alcohol testing. Must complete a criminal background check prior to hire. Work hours Work schedules vary by assignment and operational needs. Seasonal hours are not guaranteed and may fluctuate based on program needs. Working Conditions/Environment Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Duties may involve exposure to weather conditions, noise, dirt, cleaning chemicals, and physical activity including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
