Youth Outdoors Winter/Spring Seasonal Recreation Specialist - Garfield Park Center Cleveland Metroparks - 4.1 Garfield Hts, OH Job Details Seasonal 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Stakeholder engagement Truck delivery (delivery method) Van handling Driver's License First Aid Certification Working with youth Stakeholder relationship building AED Certification Vehicle parking operations Full Job Description The Youth Outdoors Winter/Spring Seasonal Recreation Specialist assists with the planning, implementation, evaluation, and instruction of outdoor recreational activities to enhance the appreciation of nature and support health and wellness initiatives for youth in the city of Cleveland. This is a short-term, entry-level opportunity designed to help candidates develop professional skills in the field of Outdoor Recreation. Provides outdoor recreation and educational programs that serve to enhance Cleveland Metroparks conservation, education and outdoor recreation mission and to promote environmental education and stewardship. Assists with outdoor recreation activities within the park district and at off-site locations. Activities include hiking, youth summer camps, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, sailing, fishing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing/rappelling, backpacking, special events, adaptive recreation Participates in special events or projects as assigned. Manages, stores, repairs, and inventories equipment needed for outings, including vehicles, trailers, canoes, kayaks, bicycles, snowshoes, cross-country skis and all the associated accessories. Assists with administrative tasks, including answering phones, creating promotional materials, planning programs, and other tasks as required. Operates pick-up trucks and vans with trailers to transport equipment, including the ability to drive, back-up, and park trucks and vans with trailers to various park locations.
