MINIMUM STARTING SALARY FOR NEW HIRE
$ 11.00 Hourly Wage This is a field position, which works UP TO forty-hours on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
JOB PURPOSE
Under general supervision, assists with overall operation and maintenance of State Parks. Performs diverse duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the Department. Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with Department policy and procedures and planning of long and short-term goals. Collects and accounts for revenue and produces required reports. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings and equipment. Assists in management of assigned specific operations and programs to include public use areas, facilities, safety programs and grant projects. Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors. Provides a variety of office functions related to callers, correspondence, reservations and revenue collection.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree in Park Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Candidate must specifically meet these required qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
