PARK KEEPER PART-TIME SALARY
$11.00 per hour
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under supervision of the Park Superintendent has the responsibility maintaining records of the condition of the park facilities. Is a temporary non-supervisory position. Requires manual labor tasks as needed related to light maintenance, landscaping and construction. Maintain cleaning schedule of park grounds, and restrooms.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Park Superintendent Communicates with the public, park users, and other co-workers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Open and closing the park Performs light landscape duties such as water landscape areas, rake leaves, and tree trimming. Yard cleaning which includes emptying trash cans, trash removal, and litter pick-up around park grounds and parking lot Building and restroom maintenance and cleaning Responsible for the upkeep of the athletic fields and playgrounds equipment Load and unload materials and equipment when needed Sweeping and washing down sidewalks and parking area when needed Weekend, holiday and evening work required Keeps restrooms stocked with necessary cleaners and toiletries and Performs other such duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate recommended. Must have good people person skills, and good cooperative working relationships with other employees. Must enjoy working with the public, have good verbal communication skills, and be able to present a professional image. Must enjoy working in an outdoor setting, be physically fit. Ability to speak English/Spanish is desirable. References will be thoroughly checked.
LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS
Valid State of Texas Driver's License with good driving record, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES
Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to perform strenuous work in the outdoor. Ability to communicate effectively, both in both English and Spanish. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with the public and other employees.
Physical Demands:
Physical requirements may include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.
Working Condition:
Working conditions will be in the outdoor setting. Weekend, Holiday and Evening work required. This is not a Civil Service covered position.
